Why Joe ain't so bad.

Getting a federal government that is progressive is the ultimate goal of this group. This is sadly not something that could happen overnight. In order to complete a long arduous journey you need to start and that's what we are doing. So I feel that there are few steps that we need to do to take control.

Phase 1 is defeating conservatives. This takes several things to get done. The first thing is Democratic majorities in both houses of congress. With getting a majority in the house of representatives being the more pressing of the two houses. We need to get Democrats, any Democrats elected it shouldn't matter if they are Pro-life, Pro-Gun or Pro-War. We need Democratic chairmanships and the subpoena power that comes with it.

Then once we get the majorities in both houses we can work on phase 2, shifting the debate. This works by getting a Democrat elected President and Progressives elected to congress. The later is more important then the sooner. President Nixon was the first president to recommend that we have national health care but the conservative Democratic congress defeated the idea. So we need to get Progressives elected then get a President who is willing to work for our ideals.

Phase 3 is govern progressively.

S0 Bob Casey and Joe Lieberman and other conservative Democrats aren't bad as long as they are the minority of the majority party. Our first step must be to take out vulnerable Republicans and then get Progressive Democrats elected.
