Wisconsin citizens demand troops come home now

Wisconsin voters from the northern forests to cities of the south, from Lake Michigan to the Mississippi River, sent a message Tuesday that will be heard nationwide by passing referendums supporting an immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops in Iraq, advocates said today.
"It's reverberating around the country," said Tim Carpenter, executive director of the Progressive Democrats of America, an organization promoting similar referendums in other states.
"The bottom line is that Wisconsin is ahead of the curve. You'll see more of these referendums, more grass-roots efforts to bring the war to the forefront of the debate," he said.
